An arrest warrant has been issued for a woman convicted in 2016 of hiding her teenage girls from her husband for more than two years during a bitter custody dispute after she failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing Monday.
Court records show the hearing was scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday in Dakota County. And that a warrant was issued after Sandra Grazzini-Rucki failed to appear.
Last November, a Minnesota Court of Appeals ruling said a judge must allow Grazzini-Rucki to serve her prison term of just over a year all at once and not in 15-day stretches annually through the length of her probation, scheduled to run through 2022.
The court refused, however, to reverse her conviction, dismiss the charges against her or grant a new trial.
The parents were involved in a bitter divorce and custody battle when the girls disappeared. The girls' mother, Grazzini-Rucki, accused the father, David Rucki, of abusing her and the girls. A judge granted custody to the father, who denied the accusations.
The teens were found in 2015 and moved back in with their father. Grazzini-Rucki was convicted in July of 2016.
In November of 2016, a warrant was issued for her arrest after authorities said she failed to maintain contact with probation officers.

Warrant Issued For Lakeville Woman Recently Released From Jail

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 51-year-old Lakeville woman previously convicted of hiding her daughters from their father for three years.
The warrant claims Sandra Grazzini-Rucki failed to maintain contact with probation officers.
Grazzini-Rucki was convicted in July of six felonies for hiding her two daughters from their father during a custody dispute.
Currently her sentence includes serving seven months in jail over the next six years. However, the warrant states that once she is found, that sentence will be vacated.
In most probation violation cases similar to this one, harsher penalties come next.
